What the desk checks first

Once your request arrives, the desk reads your date, time and address and contacts a car company in the Triangle to check availability for that slot. The answer comes back to you with three things: the fixed rate per car, one way, the vehicle class, and the pickup time at your door.

Figures on the pricing page are starting points. The exact rate for your own ride is confirmed with you before you reserve, and it stays the same at any hour. A request sent while the telephone line is staffed gets an answer within 30 minutes; one sent overnight is answered soon after 4:00 am.

Reply to confirm your reservation

Nothing is held until you answer. Reply to the quote and the desk places the reservation with the car company for your date. Your confirmation repeats the fixed rate, the vehicle, the pickup time and any extras you asked for.

If the desk cannot find a car for your time, it tells you so and you owe nothing. For a ride within the next 12 hours, telephone the desk instead of using the form.

• Child seat, when the car company can supply one: $10 per seat per ride
• Extra stop on the way: $15 per stop
• Waiting beyond the included time: $10 per 15 minutes

Before the ride: names and numbers

Ahead of pickup you receive the car company's name and telephone number, the vehicle and the driver's first name. The car company supplies the car and the driver and performs the ride.

You pay the car company the fixed rate from your confirmation at the end of the ride, by card or cash in the car. The website takes no payment and the form never asks for card details.
